Jargon

Shakespeare invented words
But he was a special case
Revered the world over and
Worthy of that special place.
Not so the modern worthies
Who dominate our TV
Loathe to use just one word if
They can possibly use three.

They chatter and they gibber
With language so obscure
So what they mean at times
I'm never really quite sure.
They are of that pool of Experts
Permanently on call
To dissect, discuss and explain
Everything to us all.

That's twenty four hours news
So even on a slack day
They have to fill the hours and
Find something to say.
Hence the rise of the expert
Permanently on call
To obfuscate and confuse
The common herd of us all.

The world is little more dangerous
Then it was in the past
Before we had so many hours
For  the media to broadcast.
What useful to fill three lines
Somewhere on page three
A  matter of great  import now
Thanks to non stop TV.

History more and more ignored
As we live only in the present day
And listen to the garbage
The expert is ever ready to say.
The language of Shakespeare
More and more abused
As media speak and jargon
Become ever more used.
